How to Handle Your First Year in Network Marketing!

Hey everybody this is landon stewart here. This post is geared towards your first year in network marketing. I think that we can all agree that your first year in the business is the most challenging. There are hundreds of opportunities calling your name, and they all look ALMOST perfect. There are advertisements of people saying that they will be the sponsor for you, but they probably don’t even know what they are doing. There are way too many distractions going on to ever find any real results that first year.

Since my first year in network marketing is already over, I think I could give you a couple of tips on what to avoid, and what is really going to help you get success.

First of all network marketing online or offline is all about people. Never forget that there are real people behind those computer screens. That is one of the biggest obstacles for most new network marketers. They think “yes finally no more door to door sales, I don’t have to deal with people anymore”. This could not be further from the truth. You cannot just expect to put up a corporate lead capture page given to you by your company of choice. I am sorry, but that same lead capture page is being used by hundreds of other marketers from your same company. Why should prospects join you instead of that guy?

That is what I am here to do. I want to separate you from just being THAT guy. I want to turn you from that guy to THE guy. I want to turn you from being one of a thousand into one of a kind.

That is honestly my goal for this blog. All too often marketers think that people join the opportunity. If you have read enough of my posts I am sure that you have heard me say this before, but it is just that important. People DO NOT join opportunities. People join people.

You have something that not one other sponsor has. You might not know exactly what that is yet, but there is something that sets you apart. My personal advice: look into one particular type of online marketing. It doesn’t matter what it is. It could be content marketing, video marketing, web 2.0 marketing, or even PPC marketing. Just look into one type. One mistake that people make is they try to master every type all at the same time, and they end up sucking at them all. Sorry about the language, but it is true. What you need to do is master just one type. Research it, practice it, and then master it.

See what you are doing when you master just one type of marketing comes back to you two fold. Obviously you start getting traffic from it, which is always a plus. But the main reason it is so good to master one kind is not when you talk to your prospects (potential distributors), you have something to teach them. If you can teach a prospect one thing, you will have their trust for life.
